will be scheduled during the summer and evenings throughout
the year.
Interns will be required to complete the
following:
• A Pedagogy and
Professional Responsibility Course (PPR) consisting
of 80 hours of class work, which covers the PPR domains
and essential knowledge required by the state.
• A Content Course
containing the TEKS for the content area and instructional
strategies to deliver the TEKS to students. The content
course will be 120 hours of class covering each domain of
the content area as well as instructional strategies.
• During the coursework
portion of our program, interns will participate in 100
hours of hands-on classroom experience
in a school with a certified classroom teacher.
• A Teaching Component:
One-year Paid Professional Internship
in an accredited school. This internship will be supervised
by a TxBESS trained certified Texas classroom teacher. Observations
and evaluations will be conducted throughout the school
year. Post conferences will follow each observation. Upon
the successful completion of the internship, the intern
will be recommended to SBEC for a Standard Teaching Certificate.
OR

an accredited school. This is a full-time teaching position
during the Fall or Spring semester. The teacher candidate
